12 Questions Your Website Assistant Should Answer
The fastest way to make your AI assistant useful is to prepare answers to the questions visitors ask most. Here are twelve that apply to almost every small business. Add an accurate answer for each to your knowledge base.
About your services
- What do you offer? A short list of your main services or products.
- What don't you do? Saves everyone time and avoids disappointment.
- Do you serve my area? List cities, neighborhoods or ZIP codes.
- How soon can you help? Typical lead times or availability.
About pricing
- How much does it cost? Starting prices, price ranges, or how quotes work.
- Do you charge for estimates or consultations?
- What payment options do you accept? Include financing only if you truly offer it.
About booking and policies
- How do I book? Explain the steps, or let Growth and Pro users book through Cal.com.
- What is your cancellation or return policy?
- Do you offer a warranty or guarantee? Only what you actually provide.
About your business
- What are your hours? Include holidays if they differ.
- How can I reach a person? Phone, email and expected reply time.
Write answers visitors can act on
Each answer should end with a next step: "Would you like a quote?", "Can I take your details?" or "Would you like to book a time?" That turns information into conversations and leads.
Keep answers honest
Never let the assistant promise prices, timelines or results you cannot guarantee. If the answer depends on the job, say so and offer to have your team follow up.
Add industry questions
Every industry has its own common questions. Contractors hear about permits and warranties; salons hear about stylists and color services; online stores hear about shipping and returns. See our industry pages for ideas.
Review them every quarter
Your answers change as your business does. Prices go up, service areas grow, policies change. Put a reminder on your calendar to review these twelve answers every three months, and update the knowledge base the same day anything changes. Outdated answers are worse than no answer, because visitors trust what the assistant tells them.
Also review real conversations. If visitors keep asking a question that is not on this list, add it.
